She was the first educator to be inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame. Dr. Rhea was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in October of 2007.

In 1990, the Oklahoma International Women's Forum partnered with the OSU William S. Spears School of Business to offer a Women In Business leadership program. This program has attracted over 250 students and business leaders annually. Jeanine has been the faculty facilitator and moderator for 12 years. The program was built on the Rhea and OIWF philosophy of bringing national and international leaders to Oklahoma to represent a diversity of views.

Jeanine developed her insight into the business world first hand by owning and operating her own company. Dr. Rhea has degrees from the University of Nebraska, University of Memphis, and Oklahoma State University. Under a grant from Oklahoma State University, Jeanine did research in the area of women in management. She gained national attention when she developed a college course from her research called Administrative Strategies for Women in Business that eventually became known as Managing Diversity in the Workplace. Over 4,200 students have participated in this particular course. In 1980, Jeanine received an AMOCO Outstanding Teaching Award, and in 1982, the Cimarron Chapter of Business and Professional Women honored her as Woman of the Year. In 1997, she received the U.S. Small Business Administration Women in Business Advocate of the Year Award. The Oklahoma Journal Record recognized Jeanine as one of the Top 50 Women of the Year in Oklahoma in 1998. Also, she has been active in the leadership of professional, community, and church organizations.

Most recently, the Oklahoma International Women's Forum and the OSU William S. Spears School of Business have partnered on an endowed professorship at OSU in Dr. Rhea’s name. This professorship will support the women in business outreach program, and instruction and research in leadership specifically in women in business issues. The professorship will also serve to maintain and build on the progress Dr. Rhea has brought to the lives of countless women and other minorities who have earned leadership roles in the public and private sectors. The Jeanine Rhea/Oklahoma International Women's Forum (OIWF) Endowed Professorship in the William S. Spears School of Business will ensure that students who major in some aspect of business at Oklahoma State University will continue to benefit from a committed voice in the classroom that urges and equips them to meet the challenge of leadership in their chosen career fields.
